Renowned playback singer from Lollywood's golden era One of the leading playback singers Zubaida Khanum was from Lahore film industry during her 1950s glory days. Beginning her career with Billoo (1951) she recorded some 250 songs mostly in Urdu and Punjabi. She also sang lyrics by Sufi poets. She became a prized guest on Pakistani television programmes. Born in Amritsar Zubaida Khanum relocated to Lahore in 1947 when the sub-continent was partitioned.
