Following the catastrophic twin earthquakes in the early hours of Tuesday morning, mosques in Britain and registered charities have launched immediate fundraising appeals and are coordinating with relief work on site to establish needs.
At the East London Mosque, Imam Abul Hussain addressed the congregation at midday [6 February], offering prayers for the victims of the quake, and asking people to give immediate support through charities that are responding to the disaster.
