The 2024 Olympic Games are being held in Paris from 26 July to 11 August. French Muslim female athletes will not be allowed to don the hijab. However, provision is being made for a multifaith prayer room for athletes. Whether there will be such a facility for visitors as well is not known.

The Federation of Islamic Solidarity in Sports has published a press release denouncing the ban on French athletes wearing the veil during the Olympic Games. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights had already expressed its opposition to the decision.

Included in the specifications conveyed by the IOC to the Organizing Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games by the IOC, there will be provision for a multifaith center to allow all athletes and their delegations based in the Olympic village to practice their faith. This includes managing the prayer room and training of chaplains. Each faith is in the process of making these arrangements.
