Poet. Iqbal was an outstanding poet of Iran. He came to India and after studying for twenty years under Bahauddin Zakaria of Multan, went to Qonya (Anatolia) and wrote his greatest work Kitab al Lamaat. Iqbal had a Diwan to his credit. A.J. Abberry translated his Ushshaq Namah into English in 1939. Iqbal was greatly influenced by the mystic Ibn al Arabi. Iqbal Fakhruddin Ibrahim was born in Hamdan.
