Ibn Ziyan Muhammad Bin Abdul Rahman
The founder of the Ziyaniyia order, which was a branch of the Shadhili, order.
Ibn Ziyan was expelled from Fez by the Sultan and went to Tafilatt, where he was admitted to the Shadilya or Shazilya order. From there he went to Makkah for pilgrimage and after his return from there, established himself at Qenaza where he founded his own order.
Ibn Ziyan was born at Thatha, Morocco, and studied at Fez under Muhammad bin Abdul Qadir al Fasi (d 1704).
