Ibn Buwayh Ahmad
The founder of the Buwayhid dynasty.
Ibn Buwayh's father was in the service of Samanids. His three sons including Ahmad occupied Isphahan, al Ahwaz, Karman, Shiraz and finally Baghdad in 946 and was given the title of Muizz al Dawlah by Caliph al Mustakfi.
As the Buwayhids were Shiite Iranian, they established the Shiah festivals like Ghadir al Khumm and mourning anniversary of Hazrat Hussain.
