Ibn Al Ash' Ath Abdur Rahman Ibn Muhammad
He belonged to the Kindi tribe.
Ibn Al Ash was famous for his revolt against the Governor of Iraq, al Hajjaj in 699 - 701. He was, however, defeated in a final battle in 701 by the superior army of caliph Abd-al-Malik Ibn Marwan, who had initially offered governorship to ibn al Ashath, an offer that was not accepted.
Ibn Al Ashath took refuge in Kabur, where he was murdered.
