Hajib Al Mansur

After the death of al Hakam, he rose to the post of royal chamberlain (Hajib) and Vizier under the patronage of the Queen Subh. Hajib built for himself in 978 a magnificent city called al Madinah al Zahrah and took the title of Mansur bi-Allah (Victorious through the aid of Allah) in 981. He captured Barcelona in 985, Leon, Castile and Cordoba. Never except under Abdur Rahman III, did the star of Spanish Muslims shine with such brilliance.
