The King of Iran of the Qajar tribe.
Enthroned in 1797. In his reign, Sir John Malcolm was sent by Lord Wellesly from Calcutta to Iran to counter the threat of invasion to India by Zaman Shah of Afghanistan.
It was in his reign that Persia ceded Georgia, Qara Bagh and seven other provinces to Russia after a war in 1812, which ended with the treaty of Gulistan in 1813
