An Iranian anthologist.
He was a descendent of Abdur Rahman bin Awf. He came to Lahore at the court of Qabacha and dedicated his famous anthology Lub-al-Albab in 1220. He joined the court of 1ltut' mish in 1228 and dedicated his famous collection of anecdotes Jawami-al-Hikayat to his Wazir al Junaidi, which was an encyclopaedia of anecdotage containing mines of interesting information.
