An administrator. Ali Yavar Jung was the Home Secretary in the last Asifjahi Nizam of Hyderabad, a princely state of British India. He also became the vice-chancellor of Osmania University and later, of Aligarh Muslim University. Ali Yavar Jung was India's ambassador in Argentina & Chile, Yugoslavia, France, the USA and in Egypt at the time of the Suez crisis when India supported Egypt's President Nasser when the latter nationalised the Suez Canal. He passed away when he was governor of India's state of Maharashtra.
