Iranian actress recognised after a long time. Shohreh Aghdasloo was nominated, in 2004, for House of Sand and Fog, movie based on Andre Dubus's book, for an Academy Award, as best supporting actress. The remarkable book is based on for their deeply sympathetic portrait of the exiled Iranian community in the US, a home to more than 200,000 of them. Aghdashloo left Iran in 1978, at the height of her career, living first in London, then in Los Angeles.
