The 11th constitutional monarch of Malaysia who took the ceremonial throne in 1999 under a five-year rotation system when he was elected by secret ballot among the Sultans of Malaysia's nine states. He was also the hereditary ruler of Selangor state. He was an avid golfer and cyclist.
