One of the great Muslim personalities in the Balkans. Dr Masovic was a Lecturer and professor who served as an adviser to the 'Ulama Mejlis' in Skopje (1941-1943) and he also served in the ministry of education in Sarajevo and ministry of social security (1953-1963) Dr Masovic represented the then Yugoslav Muslim community at the first OIC-sponsored European Islamic Conference held in London in 1973. He travelled the Muslim world inspired by an unshaken faith in Islam. He was a friend of the friendless, the weak and the needy. Sulejman Masovic was born in Nova Varos, Sandjak.
