Muhammad Agha

The Turkish architect whose master-piece is the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Agha first studied music in 1567 but then switched to architecture and became a pupil of the great architect Sinan, Turkey's most celebrated architect. Agha, from 1609 till 1616, worked on the Sultan Ahmad Cami (Blue Mosque). The design of this mosque was based on Hagia Sophia, the masterpiece of Byzantine architecture.
