Shaikh 'Uthman Abdul Aziz

Death:1999

Iraqi scholar and leader of the Kurdish Islamic movement. Shaikh 'Uthman was actively involved in the spread of Islamic education by establishing schools in Iraq and Iran. Shaikh Uthman authored a 17-volume tasfir (Kurdish translation and explanation of the meaning of The Qur'an). Shaikh 'Uthman Abdul Aziz who was a calm and modest man and promoted a cordial and constructive relationship was born in Halabja and died on a visit to United Arab Emirates.
