Shaikh Muhammad Ikram

Pakistan's bureaucrat and educationalist. Having started his career in the civil service of British India in 1933 in Bombay Sheikh Muhammad Ikram was also an educationalist and writer. He also served as a high level bureaucrat in Pakistan after India's partition in 1947. Sheikh Ikram's magnum opus was the cultural and religious history of the Indian Muslims, written in three volumes and known as Aab-e-kausar, Raud-e-kausar and Moj-e-kausar. He also authored 'Ghalib Nama' (1936) on the life and time of Ghalib. Sheikh Muhammad Ekram was born in Faislabad formerly known as Lyalpur and died of heart attack in Lahore.
