Mir Ali Tabrezi

Calligrapher. Mir Ali, a contemporary of Timur (Tame Lane), was the inventor of Nastaliq script, which was the most elegant of Persian, scripts. He developed Nastaliq out of the Arabic Nashk and Persian Taliq script. His copy of Khwaja Karmanis Huma wa Humayoon is preserved at the British Museum. Urdu language is written in nastaliq script invented by Mir Ali. His disciples made his style popular both in Iran and India. Mir Ali was born in Tabriz, Iran.
