Bollywood film-maker and director. The amazing rags-to-riches saga of a fascinating larger-than-life personality who rose from an unpaid 'extra' to the heights of international fame as one of India's greatest film-makers. Mehboob's masterpiece hit movies such as Aurat, Taqdeer, Anmol Ghari (1946), Andaz (1949), Ann (1952) and above all the Oscar-nominated Mother India (1957) drew millions all over India and abroad. Mehboob Khan was born in a village, Sarar, near Baroda and died in Bombay.
