Robert Milligan amassed a fortune importing goods from sugar, rum and coffee plantations in the Caribbean harvested by enslaved people [. . . ] His statue was erected in 1813 and was moved to its current location at the entrance of the Museum of London Docklands, West India Quay in 1997.
