" And in the alteration of night and day, and the fact that Allah sends down sustenance from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the change of the winds, are signs for those that are wise. Such are the signs of Allah, which we rehearse to thee in truth: then in what exposition will they believe after Allah and his signs? "

There are plenty of references to pursuit of knowledge and the duty to try to understand His world in the Qur'an. Know your creation, you will know your creator. The possessor of knowledge or wisdom has been given a very powerful gift, and that the pursuit of knowledge is something which should be done actively by everyone. Allah (SW) made us" agents, inheritors of the earth" and consequently of the seas. In order to protect and to discover the world of God, we need more Muslims to be involved with the "nature field".

The ocean can be studied in many ways, and the science of oceanography includes many specialties. To become an oceanographer, a person needs a background in science and mathematics. Solid knowledge of at least one basic science, such as biology, chemistry, geology, or physics, is required. In college, oceanography courses help an undergraduate student learn how the basic sciences apply to the study of the ocean. However, most future oceanographers acquire detailed knowledge about the ocean through graduate training. Some of them will go on lengthy research expeditions or make deep-sea dives. Others may also work with computers in an attempt to recreate, analyze, and predict ocean behavior.Here are some exemples of careers :
