GADDAFI OFFERS INTELLIGENCE COLLABORATION
12 January 2003
The dictator and former bete noire of the US and UK has announced that he is sharing information with western intelligence agencies. The post-September 11 hunt for suspects provids him with a convenient opportunity to harrass Libyan opposition who have fled the country, to escape a brutal regime that has been in absolute control since 1969. By tainting them as Al-Qaeda, he hopes that US and Britain will 'wipe out' - his words - such dissenters.
