We, the senior Imams of the Muslim community, write also on behalf of thousands of our congregants to utterly and unreservedly condemn this barbaric, inhuman and un-Islamic carnage in Orlando.

We offer our sincerest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

In our opinion that sinful attack of religious hatred and terror is completely against the teachings of Islam.

Indeed, the Holy Qur’an teaches us all:

“Whoever kills a person unjustly…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)

We re-iterate our commitment to continuously combat all hate crimes and prejudices, particularly religious hatred.

May God direct us all in the right path.
