Ismail Amaan is a director of Foster Care Link, a service specialising in finding families for children of varying different backgrounds, ethnicities and languages.  As part of its work Foster Care Link  operates the ‘Muslim Fostering Service’™.  After a recent full five-day inspection this service has been declared ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.  In the official report published on 19 November 2014, Foster Care Link was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all five areas of assessment, namely; overall effectiveness, progress and outcomes for children and young people, quality of service, safeguarding children and young people and leadership and management.

In response, Ismail Amaan noted, “This is a major achievement for our service and a reflection of our excellent staff and carers. It has taken ten years to achieve our Ofsted Outstanding status and we are extremely proud, especially in providing such positive outcomes for our children and young people”.

Some of the comments made by the Ofsted Inspector within the report were:

“The inspection finds that this fostering agency offers an outstanding quality service to looked after children in foster care placements. The outcomes for children and young people are excellent.”

“The experiences, progress and outcomes for children and young people are excellent”

“Children and young people’s identity needs are exceptionally well met by the fostering service and at all levels”

“The support of approved foster carers is outstanding. Foster carers receive excellent support from staff.”

“The leadership and management of the fostering service is excellent. The management team is very strong” .
