We started building a new MASJID (mosque) and a Muslim Community and Education Centre (MCEC) in Palmers Green, North London four years ago and by the Grace of Allah (SWT) we are very near achieving our goal. We are asking for help to enable us to complete this project. Construction of the building is almost finished and we have already started to use the mosque for five daily and Jumu'ah salat and we currently attract around 800 worshippers every Friday. We also offer Tarawih prayers during Ramadan. In EID,we organise 3 prayers due to the big number of the Muslims in our area. Last January we started a Saturday Islamic school for children aged 6 to 16. This has been very successful and we now have over 100 children on our register.

We started doing Islamic Nikah(marriage) and some non Muslims have become Muslims, walhamdulillah, in our mosque.

In addition, we are organising separate Tajweed classes for both men and women and First Aid courses.

The feedback we receive from worshippers and users is very positive and people are very keen to see the project completed.

The London Borough of Enfield has a population of approximately 39,000 Muslims. 15,000 of them live in the areas surrounding the Mosque and centre. There is a desperate need for the new facilities in this area and there is no other project of this kind in the area.

Our building project is estimated to cost around 1.7 million pounds sterling. We bought a piece of land of 6,900 sq mt and we have obtained full planning permission to build a Mosque and centre with a dome and a minaret. The centre will include a nursery, a public Islamic library for Muslims and non-Muslims and teaching rooms. A car park for about 50 cars will also be provided. Our aim is to provide facilities for a variety of services. These will include educational, social and welfare services together with Dawah activities. We have completed a significant part of the project but we now need funds to bring the building into full and proper use.

The Ministry of Endowment and Islamic affairs (AWQAF) in Qatar has, by the Grace of Allah (SWT), kindly donated £400,000 for the mosque, but we are now urgently dependent on donors for further help to allow us to complete the construction.

To date, we have spent over £1.4 million on the project and we need more funds to carry out all the internal finishing works and the remaining ground works. The estimated cost to complete the project is £255,000(two hundred and fifty five thousands pounds):

The £255,000 will cover the following:
1. Internal doors and partitions
Work is being done and partly paid For completion: £40,000
2. Ceilings: Nearly completed: £15,000
3. Fire precautions and security: 50% completed £10,000
4. Completion of heating and air conditioning works: £20,000
5. Completion of electrical works: £20,000
6. Finishing, Decoration, and prayer hall woodworks: £80,000
7. Fixtures and fittings: £10,000
Miscellaneous: £10,000
Minaret: £50,000
Estimated total required for the completion of the building: £255,000

(We will need also some more donations in order to do: the car parking, landscape, fences, gates...)

We would, therefore, be very grateful if you could give our request for a donation or a loan urgent consideration. We ask you to make an extra effort to help us bring the Mosque into full use. Helping people to offer five daily prayers will bring enormous rewards to all.
