Biographical detail :	The Abbasid caliph as Saffah had nominated his brother al Mansur and after him Isa (nephew) as heirs. When al Mansur inherited the throne, he was the Governor of Kufa. Mansur forced him to renounce his rights of succession in favour of his own son Al Mahdi.
