|Biographical detail : ||A Persian poet of India.
His works included Chahar Unsar, Irfan, Tilsim e Hairat, etc. and a Diwan. He was a Sufi poet and never wrote a single line in praise of a monarch or a ruler.
Bedil was born at Azimabad, Bihar, he came to Delhi during Aurangzeb's reign. Ghalib and Iqbal of India were both influenced by him.
