|Biographical detail : ||Pope’s envoy that embraced Islam.
When an Englishman was sent by the then Pope as his envoy to South Africa he was warned about meeting Ahmad Hoosen Deedat. Deedat (1918-2005) was South Africa’s Islamic propagator and debater.
The Englishman after many meetings and discussions with Ahmad Deedat, who was involved in Islamic Propagation Centre (IPCI), embraced Islam, in 1978, and took the name Jamaluddien.
Sheikh Jamaluddien studied at the Darul Uloom, Newcastle. He worked at the IPCI and taught at the As-Salaam Educational Institute where also worked as an Auditor (his original profession).
