Hailing from the illustrious Patiala Gharana and born into the renowned musician family of South Asia, Asad Amanat Ali Khan died of heart attack in London.
Quite often his concert would round off with ‘Insha’a Jee utho, abb cooch karo – a song that finds another ironic reference in Asad’s death.
The great-grandson of Ali Bux Khan, the founder of the Patiala Gharana, Asad was given the president’s award for Pride of Performance just two weeks before his sad demise. |
