|Biographical detail : ||Born in Nawa near Damascus. He studied at Ashrafiya school of Traditions in Damascus.
He had the moral courage to request Sultan Baibars to free the people of Syria from the war taxes imposed on them and he alone refused to sign a fatwa approving the legality of these taxes.
Shafi Jurists regarded his Minhaj al Talibin very highly. His other works included Tahzib Al Asma Wa'L Lughat, Al Tahrir Fialfaz Al Tanbih, Riyaz Al Salihin. He wrote about 60 books. He had very strict standards and admitted only five works on tradition as canonical.
