A medical doctor by degree, Dr. Zakir Naik is renowned as a dynamic international orator on Islam and Comparative Religion. Adept in clarifying the religious viewpoints and clearing misconceptions about Islam of his faith along with his deep knowledge of Bibles, the Talmud and the Torah, Mahabharta and the Bhagwat Gita, and other scriptures not to mention by reason, logic and scientific facts.
Dr Naik is popular for his critical analysis in convincing answers to challenging questions posed to him by audiences especially non-Muslims in public gatherings and on television programmes all over the world. In the last several years, he has delivered hundreds of public talks all over the world apart from in India, in the presence of distinguished pubic and official figures.
Dr Naik regularly appears on many TV channels and Radio interviews all over the world and his interviews, talks and dialogues are widely available on video Cassettes and CDs. Of the many symposia and dialogues with prominent personalities, his public dialogue with Dr William Campbell (USA), on “The Qur’an and the Bible in the light of Science”, held in the city of Chicago, in 2000, remains outstanding.
Dr Naik has authored many books including ‘Replies to the most common questions asked by non-Muslims’, ‘Qur’an and Modern Science – Compatible or Incompatible’, ‘Concept of God in major religions’, ‘Islam and Terrorism’, ‘Women’s right in Islam – Protected or subjugated?’ and ‘Is the Qur’an God’s Word?
Dr Naik who founded Islamic Research Foundation, in 1991, and is its Chairman promotes Islamic Da’wah – presentation, understanding and appreciation of Islam – that reaches millions of people worldwide through satellite TV and Cable TV channel networks, Internet and print media.
Zakir Abdul-Karim Naik was born in Bombay, the city now known as Mumbai, and there he resides.
