Biographical detail :	The wife of the king of Afghanistan. Suraiya visited London with king Amanullah Khan in 1928. Her photographs in bare-shoulder gowns in London played a part in arousing the Afghans to revolt against the king. But she gave company to her royal consort even when he was deposed and exiled.
