Bashorun, before he came to Britain in 1946, became known as a musician in eastern Ghana, the most prominent guitarist of his generation. He played bongos by night and belonged to Londonís Soho bohemia of the 1950s, which had an air of this new music at the dimly-lit Soho cellar.
Ade Bashorun who was born in Lagos had unflagging capacity for debate and was democratic and generous. He also prided himself on his professionalism.
