| Biographical detail : | The leader of Quadri tariqah of tasawwuf (order of Sufism) in Iranian Kurdistan.
Shaikh Kurdistani was one of the prominent scholars of Iran. He believed religion as a way of life and, therefore, politics and government could not be detached from Islam. He built more than fifty mosques and centres from Mahabad to Kermanshah and was active in da’wah work.
In 1980, Shaikh Kurdistani went into self-exile from Iran to Iraq and then finally to Britain which lasted until his death. He remained very active in the last 12 years of self-exile in Britain.
Shaikh Kurdistani died in London but his body was taken back to Iran, and buried in Dolab attended by over 70,000 of scholars and followers. |
