CHARITY UPDATE

Save an Orphan is a non-political and non-profit registered charity based in the UK which primarily focuses on providing orphaned children with opportunities to maximise their potential abilities so that they can become influential members of the world's future. Therefore, our global focus is on providing orphans with the basic necessities that they naturally deserve; sustenance, protection, a loving environment and a good education. We plan to provide a long-term solution to prepare orphans for their future lives, both physically and mentally.

It is estimated that there are between 143 to 210 million orphans worldwide. Thousands of vulnerable children are left orphaned every year due to famine, child abandonment, war, disease and natural disasters which leave children displaced, examples of which lie before us; poverty and aids in Africa, the aftermath of the earthquake in Kashmir, the Tsunami, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the list is endless. But what happens to those children who are left orphaned? Who is there to love, care, protect and guide them? Should they go unnoticed? Our answer is no. An orphan should have the same chances in life as any other child. Just like any other child, an orphan also aspires to become something one day. It is our duty to help make their dreams come true; ‘Save an Orphan’ wants to make their dreams come true. This is reflected in our mission statement:

Mission Statement:

"Save an Orphan will create a systematic pattern; providing orphans with basic needs; placing them in homes, either through foster carer or next of kin; and an education. All of which will help them to reach their full potential so that they can also become important members of society in their adulthood. These are small steps towards eliminating poverty and prejudice."

To sponsor an orphan is £350, if we divide that over 12 months, that is not even £30 a month, your £350 will ensure that a child is placed in a home, with good health and education to prepare them for their future lives. Smaller donations are also welcome and will be much appreciated. The month of Ramadan is approaching and we would be extremely appreciative if you could donate, no matter how big or small, every little counts.
