The British Charity 'Doctors Worldwide'
The British charity 'Doctors
Worldwide', has launched a scheme to involve British medics
in its medical care projects. It is running a medical clinic
in Afghanistan in collaboration with local charities in a
refugee camp in Spin Boldak just inside Afghanistan-Pakistan
border. DWW has sent doctors to work in the camp and the equipment
is being bought (such as X-ray machines and Ultrasound equipment)
to run the clinic. The charity is also rehabilitating a hospital
in the Zabul province in Afghanistan. There is a demand for
medical personnel and also for training support. DWW has begun
interviewing for medical staff and ancillary staff in Afghanistan
and Pakistan. For medical training DWW will be looking to
suitably qualified personnel from around the world to undertake
this final part of the project. The Director of DWW is Dr
Kani Torun, phone number 0161 909 8143.
