Amal Trust, London
The Amal Trust is a London-based educational and religious charity whose
particular aim is to help young people develop their knowledge and skills,
to assist Muslims who are or have been in prison and those who have come
to the UK as refugees. This year in Ramadan, Amal Trust is organising a
national Qur'an competition for young persons (under the age of 25, male
or female). This will be held on 9-10 November 2002 at the Muslim
Cultural Centre, 244 Acklam Road, London W10 5YG.
Other activities include a football tournament that will take place on 7
December 2002 at the Powerleague in Barnet, North London. The tournament
will be open to all boys aged 12-18, and the top three will receive medals
with the first team winning a trophy. A prize giving and Eid Fesitival will be held on 15 December at Kensington
& Chelsea Town Hall.
This year's Ramadan and Eid events are sponsored by Khan's Restaurant of
