He was a prominent historian in Turkish. He was the son of the ruler of Khiva, but as a dynastic battle arose between the brothers after the death of their father, he had to flee to Isfahan where he lived from 1629 to 1639. While in exile he studied history. He finally inherited the throne in 1645 and reigned for twenty years.
