Amir Abbas Hoveyda
Hoveyda who was educated in Paris, joined the foreign office and served in Paris, Ankara and New York. In 1958 he was appointed to the Board of the National Iranian Oil Company and in 1971 he organised the festivities at Persepolis commemorating the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of the Iranian empire.
Hoveyda was the Prime minister of Iran from 1965 to 1977 during the reign of Shah Muhammad Reza Pahalvi but following the Iranian revolution he was sentenced to death in 1979.
