The founder of the Jalayirid dynasty of Iran. The name Jalayir was derived from an important Mongol tribe. Shaikh Hasan Buzurg seized power in 1340 and became the ruler of Baghdad. His grandfather was a general of Halaku Khan and his sons likewise attained to high ranks in the army of III-Khanid Empire.
