The Sultan of Brunei, the son of Sultan Sir Umar Ali Saifuddin.
Bolkiah Hassan was made crown prince in 1961 and Sultan on his father's abdication in 1967.
Bolkiah is known to be the richest man of the world and is estimated to be worth more than 25 billion dollars. He owns well-known hotels and has shares in world's large multi-national organisations in the Western world.
