Abdul Latif Bhittai Shah

Birth:1689

Death:1752

A Sindhi Sufi poet. A symbol that inspires and influences the lives and activities of his disciples, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a mystic soul of Sindh in Pakistan. His poetry is still mesmerising and meaningful. In his pursuit of Ishq (highest stage of love) Shah Bhittai has brought legends such as Sassuee, Maruee, Leela, Noori, Sorath, Suhni and Kauroon back to life through his verses. He was considered to be a poet that brought social changes. On the life and works, a book, 'Legacy of Shah Latif', by Manzoor Ahmed Kanasro (translated by Anwer Pirzado), published by the government of Sindh, is a unique gift for lovers of the great Sufi poet.
