Aziz Billah Nizar Abu Mansur
One of the greatest Fatamid Sultans of Egypt.
He succeeded his father al Muizz in 975 and was the first Fatimid to begin his reign in Egypt. He had a Christian spouse 'the mother of his son and successor Al Hakim' and had a soft corner for them. He also began the practice of employing Turkish mercenaries who came to dominate the Fatimids in later years.
Aziz was involved in military ventures most of his life, because he wanted to expand his domains at the expense of the rival caliphate of the Abbasids. He also led expeditions against the Byzantine.
