Hashim Al Atasi
Syrian president for three times.
Atasi was a member of the Syrian Congress in 1919 and the Head of a Syrian delegation to Paris that negotiated for Syria's independence in 1936. On his return he was elected president of Syria. Faced with French Government's refusal to ratify the treaty in 1939, he resigned. Again elected president in 1950. In 1954 he was once again asked to complete his term as president.
He retired after 1955.
