One of the astronauts of planet earth. An orthopaedic surgeon, restaurant co-owner and part-time model Malaysian, Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor blasted in 2007. He was launched to the International Space Station aboard Soyuz TMA-11 with the Expedition 16 crew on 10 October 2007. Sheikh Muszaphar flew under an agreement with Russia through the Angkasawan program, and returned to Earth on 21 October 2007. During his trip, Shukor performed experiments on liver cancer and leukaemia cells, microbes and protein crystals. To be in space during Ramadan Malaysian National Fatwa Council produced an 18-page booklet, including instruction on how to pray towards Makkah from orbit.
