One of the astronauts of planet earth. A pilot in Syrian Air Force Muhammad Faris was selected to participate in the Inter-cosmos spaceflight program in 1985. He flew as Research Cosmonaut on Soyuz TM-3 to the Mir space station in 1987, spending 7 days 23 hours and 5 minutes in space. In 1987 the title Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin was awarded to Muhammad Faris. After his spaceflight, Muhammad Faris returned to the Syrian Air Force. Muhammad Achmed Faris was born in Aleppo, Syria.
