An entire intellectual career devoted to the Palestinian cause was Abdelwahab Elmessiri who remained a thinker until his last breath.
He wrote over 50 books and scores of articles on a diverse range of topics from Zionism to Postmodernism, Secularism, Muslim Political Thought, Palestinian Liberation Movement, the Intifada, Palestinian Poetry and English Literature.
A careful observer of human condition Elmessiri's writing, therefore, addresses a broad audience.
He was a man that chose to live in the 'Empire of the Mind'; where there are no shackles and freedom is absolute. In this space, not only did he discover his freedom, he discovered his faith as well.
Abdelwahab Elmessiri died of brain cancer in Cairo.
