Death:

King of Bollywood. The most recognisable face of Indian cinema and the most watched film star in the world Shah Rukh Khan is lauded for his celebrity performances. His performances in tragedy and romance throb hearts of his fans within the country and Indian diasporas at large. As a teenager he dabbled in drama and this experience served him well. With TV production starting to boom in India, Shah Rukh Khan was soon called upon to appear on the small screen - his first appearance in Fauji in 1988. His debut in Deewana, in 1992, won him the Filmfare Best Male Debut award. He played a variety of roles in several films. In 1995 the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge propelled him to new heights, confirming him a super star. The film was a huge critical and commercial success, becoming the longest running film ever in Indian cinema. Now Shah Rukh Khan oozes charisma and awards continue to stack up. Outside of filmmaking Shah Rukh Khan has been seen to be presenting Kaun Banega Crorepati - India's version of 'Who wants To Be A Millionaire' format. Lately, his love for cricket drove him to be a part of a consortium that successfully bid for one of the eight new franchises of cricket's Indian Premier League. Born into an educated and middle class family in Delhi Shah Rukh Khan never dreamed of being a movie actor. His father was a lawyer and freedom activist who had campaigned for Indian independence.
