Courtier and poet A polished and cultured courtier and poet, Zahir Dehlavi gives the fullest and most richly detailed surviving account of the course of the siege and Uprising of the people of Delhi against the invading British in his Dastan-I-Ghadr. He described the destruction of an individual's entire world in his memorable book, in exile, on his deathbed in Hyderabad.
