Bangladeshi Islamic activist Abul Hossain who had passion for Islamic movement was one of the dedicated earliest members of the newly formed Jamaat-e-Islami of the then East Pakistan. He managed the Daily Ittehad during the 1950s and established a charitable dispensary in Laxmipur, his hometown, and hostels, in Dhaka, to free accommodate talented students.
